Some time back Verizon litigated Vonage claiming they lost at least 600,000 customers to Vonage due to patent infringement. As a result Vonage was ordered to pay Verizon $58 million for patent infringement. Finally Verizon wins its patent infringement case against Vonage. Judge also issued order to cease VoIP company to provide services besides paying the penalty amount. Something that looks ridiculous is Verizon’s lawyer’s confession that the company has turned to a lawsuit because it doesn’t have any other way to compete in the market. It is very foolish to win over the competition by suing your competitor. If you really have potential you will emerge a winner.
